Myth & Mandalas: Tristan and Isolde
An evening of storytelling, art, and fellowship guided by guided by the great Arthurian romance, Tristan and Isolde.
Why are romantic relationships so hard? What does it take to sustain a mature relationship that lasts a lifetime? Are we even supposed to? Is true romance doomed? These are the kinds of thoughts Tristan and Isolde can raise in a modern listener on first listening to this story.
Beneath that lives a greater story. A story about the irresistible attraction between the sun and moon. One the giver of light, the other light’s reflector. What happens when light falls in love with its own reflection? How do we ground the ecstasy of romantic love into something generative?
Let’s put some true romance back into our lives by listening to this great medieval tale in community at a beautiful private location in Kealakekua, followed by making art to honor and integrate the story under the mango tree. The evening will finish with a home-cooked vegetarian meal prepared with love and a good dash of spice and fun by Elle and me.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a welcome email with the event’s location, parking information, and things you might want to bring.
Art supplies, vegetarian meal, and herbal teas provided.
Tickets are non-refundable, but can be transferred to a friend.
